I’m about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone athered there,
but I wanted to write to you first.

We just made history.

And I don’t want you to forget how we did it.

You made history every single day during this campaign
– every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends,
and neighbors about why you believe it’s time for change.

I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign.

We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track,
and I’ll be in touch soon about what comes next.

But I want to be very clear about one thing…

私が強く感じたのは、

We just made history.
と
why you believe it’s time for change.
いう部分とです。

当たり前ですが、「歴史は人間が作る」のです。
そして、変革は、それを信じている人々によってもたらされるということです。

今まで不可能と思われていたことでも、強い意志で取り組み、
多くの人の賛同が得られれば成し遂げられるということです。

私は、彼のこの言葉に勇気づけられています。

ところで、折角「例文」がありますので、ＶＳＯＰメソッドの
S-V-O-P を当てはめてみます。

S-V-O-P の各記号の意味は「Get The Real…英語参考書」に従っています。

気を付けて頂きたいのは、S-V-O-P の各要素が「その要素の中で『入れ子になっている』ということです。
この場合は、(　)が幾重にもなります。
また、各要素が「複数個つながる」こともあります。

それと、この説明の中で、一つだけ「参考書」では使っていない記号があります。
それは、Ｍ、と C　という記号で、
M は「主語の説明語」
C は「接続語」
を表します。

短縮形は、記号を下に書く都合で元の形に戻してあります。

以下、各文に記号を付けてみましょう。

一応記号で表してみましたが、きちんと S-V-O-P で構成させていることがお分かり頂けると思います。

ただ、記号化すると目がちかちかして、かえって分かりにくく感じる方も多いかと思います。

ですから、必要なのは、「S-V-O-P というように記号化できる、簡単な英語の語順
＝英語の基本ロジックを体得すること」だと考えています。

英語学習で必要なことは、S-V-O-P の訳し方で

Sが-Vする/なる/であるのは-Oで-　[それは]　Pです。

と、文節を切り間違えないように、音読しながら、文頭から英文を理解していくことです。

これを繰り返すことによって、
「先に判断を言い、後ろでその内容を言う」
という英文の発話感覚を身に付けていけるのです。

この「英語順を体得すること」により、直感的に英語がスラスラ分かるようになります。
